Hello, the season has ended and I think it was quite successful... maybe we could use a bit more drivers. We tried a couple new things, success ballast, different physics for each car, creating our own mod. I'd like to continue such a formula of the tin-top league, but for that I need some feedback about the rules, mod, tracks etc.
I really enjoyed the fact that there was a lot of different cars, but I know a lot struggled with the cars they'd like to drive. So one change to the mod we can try is making the power/weight ratio of all the cars exactly the same. At the moment it's half-way between the original mod physics and what would be even. The tire wear would be evened out then as well.
Another thing that (imho) needs changing is either removing the Lotus or making it's physics similar to the other cars. The car was added so that drivers who couldnt control the other cars would have an alternative. But in the end we had a third of the grid in the Lotus, which is not right.
To compensate for the removal or physics adjustments for the Lotus, we can make changes to the overall handling of all the cars, so everyone can drive what they want. One example of such an overall change would be the mentioned power/weight change, but also adjusting the brakes behavior, so the cars wouldnt slide so much while braking.
I'd also like to add a Ferrari 458 to the pack as soon as we can find a nice mod with it.
As for the rules, the success ballast worked really well, giving everyone the opportunity to fight for the podium. Unfortunately, because we only had about 10 drivers per race, you couldnt really get rid of extra weight once you got it. So I'd suggest a change in how the extra ballast is awarded:

Finally, we really need to create a consistent set of penalties and enforce them, I think what I proposed for this season was a step forward, but it definitely could be improved. I've started a discussion about penalties here.

didnt enjoy the mod atall m8 but i came to keep the numbers up ..
not my kind of tin top ,but good season and turn up i guess..

Thought was good all round had some good close races and enjoyed it but think that if you have a new championship peps should have the choice if possible or otherwise you go the other way same car and fixed setups which imo always suits some and not others penaltys i thought worked gave others chances and some close races as it showed not one or two running away with it

enjoyed it,had a few wins and close races in the first half of the season.
but the weight pens messed the second half up for me in the lotus,
i know you wont agree but i think the weight affected the lotus more,

Inittially i liked the mod. Good driving, good sounds but
the Porsche i drove was made heavier before the first race i think and after a couple of descent results i had 100+ kg of even extra weight. This way the car was undrivable and the tires went up in smoke after just a couple of laps. That way the last races were no fun at all really. Because of the low amount of drivers the weight never comes down again, that has to be changed for the next league.
Furthermore im not really in favour of changing mods at all to someones liking. If we do we never get any more drivers because when they try to enter the server they get a mismatch.
I would say : stick to the origanal mod and even it out with weightpenalties (but 10% is really to much)

So, what do You think about the table I put in the first post? I think max of 10% is not that bad, I could still fight for good positions with max penalty (but I didnt have as much tire wear as the Porsche).

We already did modify the mod, so anyone who wants to join has to download it from us anyways. Ofcourse it's not ideal for getting new random drivers, since they cant just join us without going through the website. That said, even if we are using public mods there are still mismatches, because of different versions eg. F1RFT 2010 - we used the most up-to-date 2.1 version, but most people only had 2.0 and didnt even know there was an update. Most leagues I know use some kind of custom mods.
As for the proposed adjustments, the idea in my mind is to make all the cars more accessible to everyone, so I wouldnt call it "changing to someones liking". As much as I liked the original version of the mod, there were some issues reported by others that made cars undriveable or just annoying for them, eg. instability while braking or tire wear on the Porsche.

I really enjoyed this championship. I had no pace at all in some circuits but i think this was great. And i agree to lower the ballast and if we do this championship again i would remove that lotus. Like you mentioned before: way to many people used it.
I would suggest the following crazy idea :
Make the cars the same. Just different layouts . But this will remove some fun elements aswell

Congrats to Kronos for the champ.
I had great fun, loads of close racing in every race. I thought the tortoise/hare factor of the Lotus' was the best bit.

Geoff mentioned a podium for the leagues on the frontpage like i used to do in the past. So if there is somebody that want to make them feel free (also for f1)

I'm planning to do that, but I wont have time for the next two weeks. I also want to make a short fgw season highlights video with all the F1, GT3, Megane and RoC action we did this season (if you guys remember any other events we did in rF, let me know so I can include that as well).
